I'm tired of this! How many people saw Avatar? How many people saw it and LOVED it? I am one of those people. I proudly love it, hugging onto my tee shirt, poster and action figure I will be one of the first people to defend it. But I am tired of all these people digging into it like it's something more then a movie! I am tired of popping onto the yahoo homepage and seeing another article about the alleged racism in avatar, how the pope hates avatar, the nature elments in avatar. The thing that pissed me off the most was the racisim comment. The whole White Messiah fable, or whatever nonsense. Does it make me a white supremesist if I am rooting for a white protaganist? Does it make me racist if I vote against a nonwhite antagonist? NO! It does not. Hollywood wants you to root for the protaganist and against the antagonist. Der! Should it matter what race they are? Hell, the Na'vi are aliens, yes? Granted, they are similar to other races, such as Native Americans and Africans. But they are still supposed to be aliens. And besides, this film doesn't mock their cultures. I don't see that. It's a beautiful interpretation. And inspiration for the Na'vi, not a parody or an insult. And there was another article and yahoo news, including those racisim remarks. I think Ney'tiri was the hero because in the end, she kills the bad guy. (Sorry for the spoilers! lol) So while the film revolves around Jake, it also takes a close look at her. She is not a weaker species, but no means. She saves Jake from the creatures the first time around, she could easily kill him. She is also a woman, and I like to see that in this movie, none of the women are weak. Ney'tiri's mother is the most powerful woman, the head of their spirituality. They fight in battle, they hunt. I don't think it's racist at all. In fact, if anything, the newest Esurance commercial is more racist. Because that man who is using smoke signals to send a message then that lady comes by and gives him a cellphone. I HATE that commercial because it sends the wrong message. It makes the native americans seem primitive. And that is more racist to me than anything said or done in Avatar. Yes the film has an anti-military message, at least to me it does. But I like that. I don't like the military, why would I like war? Seriously. Same thing with the enviromental message. I love that! I really do. And with all the concern about saving the enviroment, you think that this film's message would be praised. It's topical. Hahahaha. And seriously, the pope thinks that this film is trying to convert people to neo-paganism or such nonsense? It wants you to protect the earth. Mother Nature is something to worship, because it's tangible. Personally, I am not religious. I believe in the human element to Jesus, but not the divinity of religion. I love Nature, and what's wrong with this film? It's a blatant message that if we don't take care of the earth, we are going to destroy it. That's a good message I think. And about the plot? Yes it's recycled, but then again how many modern movies are completely original? It's a common plot! I like it, but heck, even I'll admit I don't neccesarily go to see Avatar for its plot. I do love the whole movie, but it's mostly the wonderful graphics that draw the crowd. I loved this entire movie and get so irritated when they try and insult it. Please, just leave Avatar alone. It's a great movie. And I will see it again and will go buy another poster and I am eagerly waiting for this movie's release on blu-ray.

ALthough I must admit, the one thing cameron could've tried harder on was the name to that mineral they were digging for. Unobtanium? Really James? You could've done better then that. Hahahaha......
